Thinking Drinkers: The Booze-Ical
From 18 Sep 24 7:30 PM to 18 Sep 24 10:30 PM
The Thinking Drinkers, two of the world’s leading drinks experts and comedians, are breathing life back into the beleaguered British boozer with their brand new, utterly unique theatrical tasting show.
Ben McFarland & Tom Sandham are returning with “Thinking Drinkers: The Booze-ical” – a brand new, all-singing, all-dancing, laughter-filled, lyrical love letter to the ‘local’.
Their latest elbow-bending oeuvre, which furnishes each audience member with five first-class free drinks, is a funny, fascinating and unorthodox celebration of the pub – and it’s even set in a boozer!
Also starring the super-talented West-End singers Flat and the Curves, “”Thinking Drinkers: The Booze-ical” is set in a pub and will take theatre-goers on a whistlestop tour through historical drinking venues is a musical mission to prove that pubs, and indeed the measured consumption of alcohol, have been the cornerstones of civilisation, the beating heart of human history, since the dawn of time.
The show has all the ingredients for the greatest lock-in of your lives: intoxicating anthems, a whole load of funny, liquor-laced history, a profound paean to the pub and, let’s not forget, five first-class free drinks.
“The Booze-ical was inspired by the daily battle pubs are currently facing to survive and thrive,” said Tom Sandham. “Hit by a combination of COVID, rising energy costs, the cost-of-living crisis and crippling business rates, we thought what they clearly need is a musical – written and performed by two people who can’t sing.”
“BEN AND TOM ILLUMINATED, EDUCATED, AND INTOXICATED THE CROWD. THE SHOW IS BOTH HUGELY FUNNY AND GENUINELY FASCINATING” THE EDINBURGH EVENING NEWS ★★★★
